The client engineered a custom hardware enhancement daughterboard for the TI-84 platform and required commercial-grade 3D product visuals showcasing chassis details, screen glass reflectance, tactile button textures, and internal circuit integration without relying on physical studio photography.
Had never produced a commercial consumer electronics visualization with animated exploded assemblies or custom embedded electronics. Analyzed physical teardowns, rebuilt precise millimeter CAD geometry from photo references, and engineered custom procedural PBR plastics, rubber keycaps, and circuit board copper traces.
Reconstructed the exterior shell using clean sub-d topology for defect-free curved specular reflections. Modeled the internal battery housing, AAA power contacts, and the custom microcontroller daughterboard. Set up multi-angle three-point studio lighting with custom HDRI bounce maps, dialed in micro-surface roughness maps, and rendered optimized turntable and explosion animations.
Delivered all high-resolution stills, multi-colorway renders (Purple, Red, Blue), and motion sequences ahead of deadline. Client approved the delivery on initial review with zero revision cycles required.
